Why Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is a carotenoid antioxidant naturally produced by the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. In its natural ester form, it is genuinely oil-soluble — not merely suspended — which is why virtually every legitimate commercial astaxanthin product is oil-based.^[1]

Clinical research has associated regular astaxanthin intake with improvements in skin elasticity and hydration, and reduced markers of UV-related oxidative stress.^[2] Separately, laboratory studies in model organisms have linked astaxanthin to extended lifespan via effects on mitochondrial function.^[3]
