Sheni Labs Vitamin B12 is in active development — methylcobalamin, the bioactive form of B12, in the same liquid drop format as Sheni Labs Vitamin D3.
Why Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 contributes to normal red blood cell formation, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal energy-yielding metabolism, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.[1] Deficiency is one of the most clinically significant nutrient gaps: it affects older adults (reduced stomach acid and intrinsic factor), people following vegan or vegetarian diets (B12 occurs naturally only in animal-source foods), and long-term users of metformin or acid-suppressing medication.
Why methylcobalamin
Sheni Labs uses methylcobalamin — one of the two coenzyme forms of B12 that the body actually uses — rather than cyanocobalamin, the low-cost synthetic form that must first be converted and releases a trace cyanide group in the process. Methylcobalamin is the form found in food and in human plasma.
Why a high dose is the correct dose
B12 absorption works through two routes: the intrinsic-factor pathway, which saturates at roughly 1.5–2 µg per meal, and passive diffusion, which absorbs only about 1% of any oral dose. This is why evidence-based oral B12 dosing is measured in hundreds of micrograms — a 500 µg dose reliably delivers a meaningful amount even in people whose intrinsic-factor pathway no longer works, and clinical trials show high-dose oral B12 performs comparably to intramuscular injection. Ingredients
Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12), MCT oil (Medium-Chain Triglycerides).
Unlike the other Sheni Labs products, B12 is water-soluble — the drop format here is used for dosing precision and stability, not for fat-dependent absorption. Cobalamins are light-sensitive, which is exactly why the amber glass bottle matters for this product. MCT carrier oil (Miglyol® 812 N), Ph.Eur. grade.
How to Use
Adults: take 1 drop daily, with or without food, unless otherwise advised by a healthcare professional. Holding the drop under the tongue briefly before swallowing is a common practice, though evidence shows swallowed high-dose B12 is absorbed effectively either way.
Important Information
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. If you have been diagnosed with B12 deficiency or pernicious anaemia, supplementation should be managed with your doctor — a supplement supports but does not replace medical treatment.
