Product Specification
What form of vitamin A does Sheni Labs Vitamin A contain? Retinyl palmitate, the stable ester form of retinol and the standard pharmacopeial form for oral vitamin A, in MCT carrier oil.
What is the dose per serving? 800 µg RE (2,667 IU) per drop — exactly 100% of the EU Nutrient Reference Value.
Why exactly 100% NRV and not more? Deliberate design. Preformed vitamin A accumulates in the liver, and the EU tolerable upper intake level is 3,000 µg RE/day — only 3.75× the NRV, the narrowest safety margin of any vitamin in the Sheni Labs line. Chronic excess is harmful and high intakes in pregnancy are teratogenic. This product delivers the full daily reference value and nothing more.
What is the bottle size? 30 mL, approximately 800 drops.
Where is it manufactured? European Union (Poland), same facility as all Sheni Labs products.
Retinol vs Beta-Carotene
Why preformed retinol and not beta-carotene? Beta-carotene conversion to retinol is highly variable between individuals — genetic variants in the BCO1 enzyme reduce conversion by up to 70% in a substantial share of the population. Preformed retinyl palmitate does not depend on conversion, which is why the dose can be set precisely at 100% NRV.
Safety
Who must NOT take vitamin A without medical advice? Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding — except on the advice of a doctor or antenatal clinic. High preformed vitamin A intake in early pregnancy is teratogenic.
Can I combine it with other retinol products? No. Do not combine with other supplements or medicines containing retinol or retinoids (including some acne and dermatology medications) without medical advice — intakes add up.
Usage
Recommended use? Adults: 1 drop daily, with a meal, unless otherwise advised by a healthcare professional. Vitamin A is fat-soluble; food improves absorption.
Verification
How do I verify my bottle is authentic? Enter the LOT number printed on the bottle at shenilabs.ge/verify-your-batch/ to see manufacturing date, expiry, and available batch documentation.
